It was the way you kissed me that made me fall. The way you knocked me to the floor, pulled my teeth in for a little more.
It was the way I traced my fingers on your skin, made me wonder where you’d been.
And the hardest I’ve been kissed, is by a pair of lips wishing I was someone else.
I know it’s late but can you drive me home? I can’t afford a cab, but I’ll cook you lunch tomorrow.
Just drop me off on King Street, scene of my little victories. But you’re not here to see me win you’re here to see me fall.
But that stupid little street, means so damn much to me. Every kiss goodnight, ever slammed car door in a fight.
All of tomorrow’s plans, every time I walked through holding your hand.
And on that stupid little street are my failures and victories, my hearts and my histories.
And I thought that if I kissed you in the dark you wouldn’t see me for all that I am,
But my failures passed through your lips, into your bones, until they were staring back at me,
And then you pat me on the head, and you put me to bed,
Which is for the best cause I could sure use the rest.
And the hardest I’ve been kissed, is by a pair of lips wishing I was someone else.

I know you’re trying to sleep, and I toss and turn all night, it keeps you awake.
I can’t get comfortable.
I’m uncomfortable everywhere I go; From a bus stop on Hunter Street, to the sweat dripping down my nose at Southern Cross Station.
I swear my body hates me.
You took me outside so we could be alone, and you shook your head and said I should just got home. I said “do what you’re going to do”. And then you kissed me. You kissed me like you were sorry.
And I’m wandering from streets to stages, from beds to train carriages, I’m wandering.
I’m wandering.
I am 1,028 kilometres from home.
I am the furthest I have ever been on my own.
But I feel safer on this stage that I do back home, watching myself go nowhere in the corner of this room.
And I’m wandering from streets to stages, from beds to train carriages, I’m wandering.
I’m wandering.
I’m wandering.
